How uTrack is helping move the Hinkley Point C PowerStation project forward

Formed in 2016, Somerset Passenger Solutions (SPS) is a joint venture between First Group (South West) and JJP Holdings, contracted by EDF to provide passenger transport for the Hinkley Point C Project, scheduled until 2025.

SPS currently transport over 4,000 people to and from the site, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their fleet is made up of over 100 modern buses, however that figure is scheduled to double between 2019 and 2021.

To ensure that the project doesn’t hit any roadblocks caused by issues with employee transportation, SPS came to uTrack and asked for our help in tracking and utilising their data to help make their service as efficient as possible.

Over the last couple of years we have worked with SPS to help them highlight the improvements they needed to make to their business:

  • Live vehicle tracking
  • Route GPS historical replays
  • Vehicle dispatch
  • Passenger vehicle tracking app
  • Tablet app for in-field operations staff
  • Incident resolution management
  • Reporting with real actionable takeaways
  • Many more

This level of analysis has allowed SPS to stay far ahead of expectations, has kept them competitive and allowed them to keep the contract with EDF.

Time and again we have been able to prove our worth to our incredible clients and partner with them in helping make public transport amazing.
