There’s something powerful about being able to show up as yourself, surrounded by others doing the same. Pride Month reminds us of the importance of that and of the everyday things that make it possible, like simply having a way to travel safely and freely.
At uTrack, we’re proud to work alongside bus and coach operators who make that possible every day. Whether it’s helping people get to Pride events or simply making sure services are inclusive and reliable, public transport plays a key role in building a more connected and welcoming world.
Celebrating Visibility
Across the UK and Ireland, our partners are marking Pride Month with visible acts of allyship. From rainbow-wrapped buses to community partnerships and support for local events.
- Bus Éireann is the official transport partner of Longford Pride 2025, helping make this year’s celebration accessible for everyone in the community.
- Stagecoach is supporting Torbay Pride 2025, with events taking place on June 14th.
- First Bus is once again a sponsor of Leeds Pride, helping bring the parade back to the heart of the city on July 20th.
- Go-Ahead Ireland continues its long-standing support of Dublin Pride, with a focus on accessible, inclusive travel.
- National Express West Midlands helped passengers get around safely during Birmingham Pride 2025, with service updates and travel info to support the weekend’s celebrations.
These are part of a growing shift in how transport operators think about inclusion and visibility.
How Transport Has Moved With the Movement
The relationship between Pride and public transport has deep roots. Back in the 70s and 80s, before Pride events became the large-scale celebrations they are today, buses and coaches were often chartered to help people travel to marches and protests in major cities. For many, it was the first time they’d travelled with other LGBTQ+ people, and the first time they felt safe to be fully themselves.
As Pride grew, public transport evolved with it. Buses became more than just a way to get to the event. They became part of the celebration. Wrapped in rainbows, rolling through cities and towns, they’ve helped bring visibility to communities that were once invisible.
Transport That Opens Doors
For LGBTQ+ people living in rural or underserved areas, reliable public transport can be a lifeline. It provides access not just to Pride events, but to jobs, healthcare, and connection.
For people who don’t always feel represented, just having a safe, reliable way to get somewhere can mean a lot. It’s easy to take that for granted, but for many, it makes all the difference. That’s something our partners understand, and it’s reflected in how they shape their services.
Whether you’re heading to a Pride event or just navigating a busy weekend in the city, getting there on time can make all the difference.
That’s where uTrack’s tools come in. Our Origin platform helps operators manage real-time tracking, route changes, and service alerts so everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
And for passengers, that’s where CoachTracker makes life easier. It’s our passenger-facing system that shows live coach locations and arrival times, so you can get to the parade without stress. No one wants to miss the glitter cannon while refreshing a timetable.
Proud to Be Part of the Journey
At uTrack, we’re proud to support operators who are building services that are not just reliable, but inclusive. From smart tech that keeps people moving to the small details that help everyone feel welcome, we’re here to make sure the journey works for everyone.
Happy Pride from all of us at uTrack.
